Yes, the STEM It Up² curriculum is free. The curriculum is the outcome of a three-year program funded by a USDA NIFA Professional Development for Agricultural Literacy (PDAL) Project titled “Immersive Professional Development Experiences for Agriscience Teachers to Explore the Floriculture Industry: STEM it Up Squared (SIU²).” All STEM It Up² curricula are completely free to download and use, with no purchase, subscription, or hidden fees. Access is open after completing a quick survey

No, each lesson is designed to be standalone. You can teach them independently or mix and match based on your program's needs and focus.

No, the modules and lessons are independent of one another and are designed to complement or extend plant science lessons you are already teaching in your agriscience, horticulture, floriculture or other plant science courses and career pathways. We recommend you review each of the modules and the lessons for topics from the curriculum map first, to determine what will work best to support the learning targets for your program and students.

Yes! Adapt the lessons, assessments, and activities to fit your students’ needs and align with the plant science courses you teach. Editable files are provided where possible.

These are common classroom routines used to focus students and check for understanding. Terms may vary by lesson. Ticket out the door = Exit Ticket, Check In, Quick Check, Wrap-Up Bell Work = Do Now, Warm-Up, Starter, Bell Ringer ThinkPairShare = Turn & Talk, Discuss with a Partner, Peer Chat. We encourage you to use the language that is most familiar to you and your students.

Yes, but we ask that you please do not share the files directly with others. Please refer others to the official STEM it Up² curriculum page (Curriculum → Access Curriculum) and create a log in so they can access the latest versions through the platform themselves.
